Principal Strategist

Background

I am an international development professional with a career dedicated to programmes where policy meets practice in the realms of food systems, agriculture, nutrition, livelihoods, and climate change. My journey began at UNESCO, where I equipped myself with a profound understanding of intergovernmental processes and negotiations at the highest level. Transitioning to Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, I worked in a bilateral setting, leading hands-on project implementation alongside government counterparts and partners.

I have recently earned a master’s in development studies from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex, where my research highlighted the pivotal role of South-South Cooperation in humanitarian aid. Fresh out of my studies, I joined the Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU) at the World Resources Institute (WRI) in the UK, where I led the formation and launch of the Alliance of Champions for Food Systems Transformation (ACF) at COP28, with founding members including Brazil, Cambodia, Sierra Leone, Norway, and Rwanda.

My dream project

Having worked on a range of projects with varied impacts and diverse stakeholders, I dream of working on a project which truly adopts a holistic approach to address the complex development problems. I envision convergence at all levels, across sectors, and stakeholders as a key foundation for such a project to deliver greater good for communities and the planet.

What floats my boat outside work?

I thrive on the positive energy of the people around me and enjoy having a warm, kind, and genuine conversation with people. On a lazy day, music and dance are what energises me. I also enjoy spending time in nature, admiring it and seeking inspiration from it for my creative pursuits.
